It’s fast... Like... FAST. I’m struggling to find a speedtest server that can go over 400Mb/s actually. That’s the best one I found yet and I know I’m supposed to go quite a bit higher than that. Really crazy!

Faster than most for sure... but then again, you’re in Australia, so that probably costs you a new born every year :)

If you want to saturate your connection, try hitting several university ftp servers simultaneously at night. You have to use an ftp program that shows speed, such as Windows command-line ftp, and you do have to do the arithmetic yourself.

Damn. That’s some fast internet.
My work internet before I switched jobs was .43 down, .09 up. And this is the internet that US Govt workers are all using. It made my job a living hell. I can load about 10 different pages on my phone in the time it took to load one on my former work computer.

It can go up to 900/900, but I can’t find a test server that’d reach this so... :)
Torrents are fast as hell lol

Back in the late 90's when I worked for Mindspring, we had a saying:
I have enough bandwidth when the backbone becomes my bottleneck...

You were once in Canada, so yo know how slow and expensive internet is here. But wait it gets worse... here in Abitibi, the fastest we can get is 100 down and 2.5 up for about 200.00 a month.
I have 5 down and 1 up for about 60 a month.......

I pay about 50CAD for this kind of speeds... Do I need to mention it’s”unlimited” too??
That would be cheaper in France though... But then again I don’t live in Abitibi-timbitscaminguwelduesvk km f.... I’ll never be able to write that name lol

Damn, mine is 30 down 5 up, with cable and HBO for $180. I’m getting hosed, think its time to cut the cord and maybe upgrade internet. US internet prices suck.

Well it’s around 900 down 900 up... But I can’t find servers to actually test the speed :)

I live in rural Mississippi and we were stuck with 3 down and 1.5 up for $100/month ($50 internet service with $50 land line) but the carrier stopped servicing our area so if you canceled your service you could never get it back.
Finally a local wireless broadband company reached our area and now we get 10 up and 10 down for $90/month. It’s been a lifesaver since I work remotely sometimes with my job.

Meanwhile I’m here paying for 30/5 and lucky to get more than 3 down at any time even remotely near peak demand.

http://www.dslreports.com/speedtest has the bandwidth to actually max out your connection if your hardware is capable.

Nah, still pretty far off what I can get... Upload is better this morning, but still pretty far from what I can get... Both test done within 2 minutes of each other...I get better results at night too... Went up to 800Mb/s download in the middle of the night yesterday.

I’ve hit 950+ down on DSL Reports with some regularity on a gig connection. Once you get above 700+ it’s a lot to do with hardware on your end as well.

Yeah, but with my Raid-0 setup, the read/write speed of the HDD shouldn’t be a problem. And the router is gigabyte obviously.
